Scottsville is a Kentucky city located in Allen County. Scottsville serves as the county seat of Allen County. According to the United States Census Bureau, Scottsville had a population of approximately 4,226 individuals in 2010. In 1817, Scottsville was established. The city is named in honor of Charles Scott who served as the 4th governor of Kentucky. In the early 19th century, Scottsville was known as Allen Courthouse.
