Glasgow is a southern Kentucky city with a population of about 14,000 people according to the United States Census Bureau. Glasgow sits in Barren County and also serves as the county’s seat. Glasgow was established by the State Assembly in 1799 and was named as the county seat of a new county the same year. In 1803, a post office was established in Glasgow and the city received city rights in 1809. Glasgow serves as the principal city of the Glasgow Micropolitan Area.
