Greenville is a western Kentucky city that is situated in Muhlenberg County. As of 2010, Greenville had a population of approximately 4,312 people. The first individuals to arrive in Greenville were settlers in 1799. It wasn’t until 1812 that Greenville was established by the Kentucky State Assembly. The city was supposedly named after Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene’s wife. Muhlenberg was incorporated as a city in 1848.

Greenville is home to various sites and attractions that will be of interest to many individuals. The Muhlenberg County Veterans Mall and Plaza was constructed in the 1980s and serves as a memorial to honor veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean War and also the Vietnam War. Another notable attraction located in the city is the thistle Cottage. The cottage, built in 1912, was originally the home of William Graham Duncan. Today, the cottage serves as a museum that houses artifacts of Muhlenberg County.
